PYONGYANG, December 2. /TASS/. Military exercises began in North Korea. Supreme Commander-in-Chief Kim Jong Un ordered the command of the Korean People’s Army to evaluate combat and political training of servicemen.

The North Korean leader visited an artillery squadron in a military unit and said that “the country’s armed forces should be turned into an elite revolutionary army enhancing its combat capability,” the KCNA news agency reported on Tuesday.

Marshal Kim Jong Un has visited soldier barracks of the squadron urging officers “to take care for their subordinates.” As a sign of citation the North Korean leader has taken pictures with servicemen of this formation and has presented an assault rifle and two binocular glasses to them.

The marshal believes that vigorous training in military units should show the high level of military and political training of warriors. Therefore, North Korea holds drills regularly and recently once in two months. In October Marshal Kim Jong Un was supervising air force exercises drilling take-offs and landings of warplanes and interception of air targets. Then the country’s leader has inspected the pilot’s cockpit and familiarized with combat capabilities of the warplane. Airborne forces of the Korean People’s Army had drills in August.
