Xi emphasizes China's unstoppable technological progress in talks with Dutch leader

Xi Jinping stressed that globalization has its downsides, but it is here to say

BEIJING, March 27. /TASS/. China’s scientific and technological progress is unstoppable, and its people will enjoy the fruits of this, Chinese President Xi Jinping said during a meeting with acting Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte, who is currently in China on a two-day working visit.

"The Chinese people also have legitimate development rights, and no force can stop the pace of China's scientific and technological progress," the country’s foreign ministry cited Xi as saying. He added that China will continue to pursue a win-win approach in its relations with other countries, open up more to the outside world and share the benefits of development with all parties.

Xi stressed that globalization has its downsides, but it is here to say. The only choice is openness and cooperation, he pointed out.

According to the Chinese leader, the Netherlands has become a real gateway for China-EU cooperation. He noted that China is willing to maintain exchanges with the Netherlands at various levels, adhere to communication and dialogue, and strive for mutual benefit and win-win outcomes.

"China is willing to expand imports of high-quality goods from the Netherlands and welcomes Dutch enterprises to invest in China," Xi Jinping said, adding that he hopes the Dutch side will in turn provide "a fair and transparent business environment for Chinese enterprises." He urged the two sides to build on cooperation in areas such as agriculture, as well as tap the potential for cooperation, especially in the artificial intelligence area.
