BRISBANE, November 15. /TASS/. Russian authorities plan to keep co-operating with trade unions on employment issues. “We have large plans in this issue,” Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with participants in a meeting of the Group of Twenty (G20) trade unions in Australian city of Brisbane on Saturday.

He told participants in the meeting that a tripartite committee of employers, trade unions and the government acted in Russia that permitted them to keep in constant touch with each other. More than 190 agreements in labour sphere that embraced over 90% of this sphere were signed.

Putin also confirmed that the task to create new 25 million jobs in Russia was still on the agenda.

“We always believed that this is impossible to resolve employment issues without trade unions effectively,” the head of state said.

He recalled that within Russia’s presidency in the Group of Twenty (G20) in the previous year the country has organised a meeting between leaders of trade union movements and officials from the Labour Ministry and the Finance Ministry in the previous year. “Unfortunately, this year summit hosts did not organise this forum, but Australia continued the tradition and offered employment issues for debate,” Putin said.

Chairman of the Russian Federation of Independent Trade Unions Mikhail Shmakov said he hoped that Turkey’s next year G20 presidency would give close attention to the work with trade unions and employment issues. He also introduced to the president participants in the meeting who head trade unions in Australia, Turkey, Britain, Japan and international associations of trade unions.
