Russia has never interfered in US elections — Kremlin spokesman

Dmitry Peskov pointed out that after the previous presidential election, Washington spent some amount of money out of taxpayers' pockets to investigate whether there was a "Russian interference"

SIRIUS /Federal Territory/, March 6. /TASS/. Moscow has never interfered in US elections, nor will it do that this time, Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said at the educational marathon Knowledge First.

"We have never interfered in the elections in the United States of America," he emphasized.

Peskov pointed out that after the previous presidential election, Washington spent some amount of money out of taxpayers' pockets to investigate whether there was a "Russian interference."

"Then your own prosecutor's office concluded that there was none," Peskov said, while addressing a question from a guest from the US. "And a parliamentary probe concluded that there was no Russian interference in the US election. We didn't say that. Your own politicians did. After having arranged an investigation for your money. Nobody can understand what it was all about."

"This time we are not going to interfere, either," Peskov said.

The next US presidential election is due in November 2024.
