Energy minister: Russia has formed required fuel reserves for winter period

MOSCOW, September 19. /TASS/. Required volumes of fuel reserves required for Russia’s power system in the autumn-winter period have been formed, Energy Minister Alexander Novak said at the meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin with members of the government.

"We have accumulated the required volume of fuel reserves. For 274 thermal power plants volumes of coal amount to 16 mln tonnes, which is 60% more than the norm. Reserves of fuel oil are at 2.7 million tonnes, or 124%, diesel fuel reserve totals 252 million tonnes, which is 110%," Novak said.

He added that to date the overhaul of the system’s generating equipment has been fulfilled by 83.2% which is by almost 4% more than in the same period of the last year. "For electricity supply network the plan has been fulfilled by 96.3% and here we also have a year-on-year increase," the minister said.
